PECKHAM'S BEER FESTIVAL APRIL 2010

Angus from Peckham's Rye gives us his take on this year's Beer Festival...

Q: Who were the faces at this year's beer festival?

A: A great mix of people at the event. Not just beery blokes but lots of women too, students, curious passers by, industry types and hardened beer enthusiasts.

Q: What was on offer?

A: New 5am Saint by Brewdog was a hit. The Williams Bros Ginger Beer was popular as always. The California Common was very well received. People were very attracted to the beers that some exhibitors decided to put on tap, in fact we had a congregation of very dedicated guys trying to polish off one of the Williams bros kegs at the end. In general, people felt they could comfortably try most things in the time given.

Q: Highlight of the afternoon?

A: Brewdog stand. The variety of styles offered by one brewery combined with the consistency in quality was appreciated and picked up on by everyone. For me, and probably quite a few of the other staff, the big hit was the new super premium release Abstract by Brewdog, beautiful stuff.
